Prints now in the shop!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that our little Etsy shop is now featuring some nice prints of various paintings, like this one:

And there are many others now, so check them out! They're printed with Epson Ultrachrome archival inks, on heavyweight matte velvet fine art paper which is a high quality 100% cotton rag paper. These pigment based inks pick up all the subtleties and richness of the original, and won't fade, smudge, or yellow.

2 new birds!

it's been a little while, but here are 2 little guys new in the shop. a violet-backed starling and an eastern towhee! enjoy!

fyi, my drawing animals class at the jersey city art school has been postponed. i will post here when i find out the new dates.

let's see, what do we  have here... an eastern kingbird, a prothonotary warbler, also known as a golden swamp warbler, and a little pine warbler. enjoy!

draw animals!

i will be teaching a 4-week long animal drawing workshop at the jersey city art school, starting this thursday (may 19th)! you can see a class description here. we will be drawing from live taxidermy animals.

this little friend i did a couple weeks ago never made it to the blog. it's hard to keep all these buddies straight.

look at the baby!

baby chickadeeeee!! i can't stop painting these guys, they're so adorbs. i think i will go paint another one right now.

and this gilded flicker was a commission. i loved painting his precious spots!

2 new fellas, and a reminder

 i can't get enough of these little chickadees, they are so adorable and fun to paint. the tiny sparrow below him is also pretty cute:

also, just to remind you, we'll be at parlay studios in jersey city this saturday to celebrate kanibal home's new upcycled clothing line - there will be an open bar, great food catered by local satis bistro, live music, and last but not least, a few of our little feathered friends!!!
